From Doha to the Dunloe Hotel

Ciara with her Doha connections and Chris from Cork, choose the Dunloe for their luxury wedding in Killarney.

The Dunloe Hotel is set to close in September for an epic upgrade (Im not even sure how it can get more luxurious) but I'm so fecking excited to see the new bridal suite for wedding couples.

And girlies.......the colour scheme at this wedding was insanely good and colourful and filled my heart with joy, I can't wait for you to check out the images and let me know.

A beautifully wholesome wedding at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens

Right so, imagine the most magical place you can think of. Add in a fab little castle, throw in a few horses, a river, a whole load of gardens and a mountain or two for good measure, and you are getting close to what The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens looks like on a wedding day.

Chris and Ciara Andersen chose the 25th of April 2025 to get married here, and honestly it was pure joy from start to finish. You could nearly feel the love bouncing off the trees.

If you are dreaming about a Dunloe Hotel wedding, it is pure class boi. No wonder couples are falling head over heels for it.

Getting Ready Photos: Bubbles, Dresses and a Serious Amount of Nerves

Ciara got ready in the Bridal Suite at The Dunloe Hotel with her best girls Rebecca, Robyn and Giovana. There were matching PJs, there was champagne (of course there was champagne) and there was a lot of excitement about the day ahead.

Ciara wore a divine Maggie Sottero dress from Vows.ie and the shoes were from the ever fabulous Be Mine Bridal. Her glam squad were the dream team: Annette O'Brien on makeup and Maureen McCarthy working hair magic. Honestly, she looked like she was in a bridal magazine.

Meanwhile, across the hotel, Chris and the lads were doing their bit to look dashing too. Chris wore a suit from the cool crew at Redchurch Cork. There were cufflinks, there were jokes, and there might even have been a sneaky pint to settle the nerves.

Saying “I Do” at The Dunloe Hotel: Civil Ceremony

Now this ceremony was the stuff of movies. Set against the lush gardens and towering trees of The Dunloe Hotel, Chris and Ciara promised forever to each other. The lovely Nichola Leeson from Saoirse Ceremonies officiated, and not a dry eye was left in the house.

Beautiful music by Ciara Conway floated through the air, and flowers from Tie the Knot Weddings added the perfect touch of romance.

Straight after the ceremony, there were hugs, confetti, lots of selfies and a sneaky kiss or two behind the trees (caught on camera, naturally).

The Reception: Food, Fun and a Packed Dance Floor

The drinks reception kicked off at 3 o'clock in the gorgeous Upper Lounge with all the guests buzzing from the ceremony. We weren't about to make the gap of Dunloe due to an on going search and rescue but we were able to make stunning use of the gardens in the Dunloe.

Speeches happened earlier than usual during the drinks (genius move, honestly as it's less stress), and they were absolutely brilliant. The Fathers of the Bride and Groom both had everyone laughing and crying within minutes.

Dinner was next, followed by a very delicious cake made by O'Carrolls Cakes. There was a bouquet toss, a bit of flirting, and then came the main event — the dancing. Ocean’s 6 Wedding Band had the dance floor packed from the very first song, and it stayed that way all night.

The whole day was captured beautifully on video by wedding videographer Adam of West Cork Weddings.
