Gap of Dunloe Couple Photoshoot
When Nicole and Dan celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a trip to Ireland, they wanted their love captured against the breathtaking landscapes of the Gap of Dunloe. This extended couple session was more than a photoshoot; it was a tribute to their journey as college sweethearts, loving parents, and adventurers reconnecting after a whirlwind decade of marriage.
The Gap of Dunloe, nestled within Killarney National Park, provided the perfect backdrop for this session. Surrounded by majestic mountains, serene lakes, and crumbling stone ruins, every moment was infused with natural beauty. Nicole and Dan were open to hiking and exploring off-the-beaten-path locations, embracing the rugged charm of Ireland. Their laid-back, trusting nature made the session as effortless as it was magical.
Nicole, a photographer herself, brought a deep appreciation for the craft, fully trusting in my expertise to create something extraordinary. From the gentle morning light on Black Lake to the dramatic, windswept hills of Dunloe Valley, each shot reflected the solid love and connection they share - a collective aw shucks if you will.
This session wasn’t just about stunning images—it was about celebrating their story in the heart of Ireland’s iconic scenery, combining laid-back luxury with authentic moments which if you ask me, is what I do best!

FAQ - Everything You Need to Know About a Vacation Couple Shoot
Why choose Killarney for your photoshoot? Seems Obvious right
Killarney really has it all when it comes to Irish landscapes. It offers a mix of epic Irish scenery, including mountains, lakes, forests, and historical sites such as Ross Castle, Ladies View, Eagles Nest, Torc Waterfall. The Gap of Dunloe is especially iconic for its rugged beauty and secluded feel.
What time is best for a shoot?
Timing depends on the light. Early mornings and late afternoons (golden hour) offer the most flattering natural light for photos, the National Park also tends to be less busy during these hours too!
What should we wear?
I recommend a fairytale style clothing - think long flowy romantic dresses, with long coats during the colder seasons, men can wear a full suit, or suit trousers + shirt (again paired with an elegant overcoat in winter). If you wish to wear more casual clothing thats no issue it will just be a different vibe.
Do we need to be experienced in front of the camera?
Not at all! Whether you’re seasoned or a bit camera-shy, I guide you through poses and create a relaxed atmosphere to capture authentic moments.
Can we include adventure elements in the shoot?
Absolutely! I love working with couples willing to hike or explore hidden gems. The Gap of Dunloe is perfect for a mix of adventure and romance, especially if we venture into the Black Valley.
How do we prepare for the shoot?
Before the session, I’ll provide tips tailored to your preferences, including outfit ideas and location recommendations. Bring comfortable shoes, and if hiking, a light jacket or scarf for the unpredictable Irish weather and a hip flask of whiskey!
Can you help with location suggestions?
Yes! Based on your Vacation shoot preferences (mountains, lakes, forests, etc.), I’ll recommend spots like the Gap of Dunloe, Ladies View, Muckross House, Muckoss Abbey, Ross Castle or Torc Waterfall for your session.
