Alex Carey Yoga
The Brief: Natural imagery to use on website and social media.
On a stormy day in February, as the wind howled and waves leapt, I made the scenic journey down to Waterville, in Kerry. I took the Kenmare route, a winding road down past Derrynane, on a road which goes from hugging the fog covered mountains to hugging the sheer cliffs. The car shook and had I any sense, it should have been a small sense of what was to come!
Alex was gregarious, endearing and wholly relatable. A mother first and foremost, reclaiming her sense of self and developing a strong business presence in the Iveragh peninsula. Her easy going approach made the idea of yoga appealable, achievable, even for the likes of me.
The session took place in her family home, which she'd beautifully renovated herself. The natural light lending itself well to the imagery we wanted to create! As the storm lashed down against the window pains, we turned on the lights, had a cup of tea and a chin wag, before getting on with it, testament of Alex's preserverance and resilience.
Alex had booked a full day branding photography session which meant we could capture her whole workflow and develop a bank of imagery. In the end we had a surprise family session too which meant I got some wonderful images of Alex with her beautiful family, which was the perfect way to round off the day. And a complete look at her life through yoga!
