Selena & David's unique Sheen Fall's & Healy Pass wedding
Surrounded by only three of their nearest and dearest, including David's daughter Laura, Selena and David eloped in the stunningly beautiful Sheen Falls, Co. Kerry. Selena choose a dramatic and elegant black dress with an asymmetrical bow at the back whist David wore a black velvet tuxedo from Louis Copeland.
Against the backdrop of cascading waterfalls, spring blooms, and an incoming tide (woop), a picturesque setting for their union was offered by the boathouse in Sheen Falls. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, we took a trip up the amazing Healy Pass taking some truly dark and moody wedding pictures.
Nestled in the rugged landscape of the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland, Healy Pass is an engineering marvel. This pass has been carved meticulously through the mountains giving breath-taking views over rolling hills, rocky peaks and vast valleys.
Healy Pass was built in 1840s during famine years; it is not just an engineering feat but also a symbol of Irish people’s tenacity and resourcefulness. It is winding roads as well as panoramic sceneries have made it popular among photographers and tourists alike who come far and wide to see its beauty firsthand. Selena had asked for a gothic style backdrop, which made sense when I heard the Wuthering Heights reading during the ceremony and I knew the Healy pass was were we needed to go!
