We rang out 2024 with Nicole and James's wild and wet wedding

Despite a yellow weather warning, the gales couldn’t dampen the  celebration that brought together 170 of their closest family and friends in West Cork

As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, Nicole and James celebrated the start of a new chapter in style with a black-tie wedding at the stunning Inchydoney Lodge,

nestled along the rugged coastline of West Cork.

This day was a testament to love, resilience, and unbridled fun—a perfect way to welcome the new year.

A Day Full of Personal Touches

Tipperary couple, Nicole and James, envisioned a day that focused on what mattered most: celebrating with family and friends. Nicole, was a vision in her Suzanne Neville gown from Sharon Hoey and classic Jimmy Choo shoes, was pampered by Aileen Butler (@aileenbutlerhair) for hair and her stunning up do and Niamh Falvey (@studiono2) for makeup. James and his groomsmen were equally dashing in Louis Copeland suits, starting their day with photos in their light-filled rooms at Inchydoney.

The Ceremony at Barryroe Church

Their ceremony took place at the picturesque Barryroe Church, Our Lady Star of the Sea, with Fr. Joe Walsh officiating. Heartfelt moments included tributes to loved ones no longer with them, as their photos were displayed in the church. I haven't laughed so much in a long time, the priest was great craic and even photobombed some of the wedding photos much to the delight of the guests.

Luxury wedding photos

After the ceremony, the party swept into the cozy embrace of Inchydoney Lodge, where guests were greeted with warm drinks and the soulful sounds of live music by the ever-talented Lucia Evans, Rick Harris, Eva, and Mary-Rose McNally. Outside, a yellow weather warning added a dramatic flourish to the already breathtaking coastal setting—how very West Cork! But Nicole and James weren’t ones to shy away from a bit of wild romance. They leaned into the gusts, the wind whipping through her veil and his jacket, creating the kind of luxury wedding photos in Ireland that wouldn’t look out of place in a classic movie.

And here’s the clever bit—these two weren’t taking any chances with their beach photos. Knowing the weather could be a bit, well, “enthusiastic,” they booked a post-wedding shoot a few days later. On a crisp but gloriously bright day, we hit the beach without a worry in the world, capturing the most stunning, windswept couple portraits. Post-wedding shoots like this are becoming wildly popular as couples opt to spend more time with their guests on the big day itself. Honestly, it’s a stroke of genius, and the results? Absolutely magic.

Inchydoney Reception and Dancefloor Highlights

The evening was a feast for the senses. Paula Dunne (@flowersbylayla) created stunning floral arrangements, and @cakesbydeborah crafted a show-stopping wedding cake. During dinner, Uke Box serenaded guests, sparking impromptu dancing before the formal first dance to their special song, Geronimo. As sparklers lit the sky after dinner, the magic of the night was undeniable.

Inchydoney was more than a backdrop; the wild Atlantic weather character in their celebration, it's rugged coastline and stormy skies shaping moments that felt both fleeting and timeless. If you’re imagining your own story unfolding in a place like this, with all its untamed beauty, let these photographs speak to you. I’m here to help capture not just how it looked, but how it felt.
