Brenda & Tony’s Lovely Wedding Day at Fernhill House Hotel, which was a little big magic


There’s a reason people rave about a Fernhill House Hotel wedding: it’s that perfect mix of swanky country house and pure West Cork craic, and it's a Cork wedding photographer's dream to work in! They have weddings down to a fine art, being one of West Cork’s most sought-after wedding venues.


Brenda & Tony chose July, with West Cork in full bloom, the sun partially cooperating, and just enough breeze to keep the hairdos honest. Ceremony in the spacious, bright marquee (which also provides weather insurance), drinks in the postcard-worthy gardens, then music and merrymaking in the glass-walled reception.


For me, Sarah Kate Photography, a Clonakilty wedding photographer, Fernhill is a dream: hidden corners, sweeping lawns, flowers that almost pose themselves. It’s polished but not pretentious (Which is like West Cork itself). And a Cork wedding always brings warmth, wildness, and craic long after the cake’s been cut.


And Brenda & Tony’s day? Family arriving, kids barefoot on the grass, hearty belly laughs everywhere. The kind of day that makes me love this job, capturing those fleeting, heart-thumping moments before they disappear.
