The ceremony, held at 3 pm, which didn't give us much time for photos afterwards due to daylight savings, and reception followed at the same location, which meant less time spent on travel

Mairead prepared for the big day at her homeplace, in the townland of Rathcoole, County Cork. Surrounded by her bridal party, Mairead's morning was filled with excitement, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Her look was crafted by talented local artists – Georgina Mackessy (@georginamackessymakeupartist) for makeup and the skilled hands at Eurostyles Millstreet (@eurostyles_millstreet) for her hair. An unexpected spark during the ceremony brought laugher
The ceremony was filled with wonderful touches that showcased Mairead and Gavin’s unique personalities, it was held in the newly built The Belfry, which makes it an ideal spot if your thinking of having a civil ceremony rather than a church ceremony.
Edel O'Flynn (@edel_o_flynn) The Celebrant, led the service, adding a warm and personal element that set the tone. For music, Niamh Murphy (@niamhmurphysongs) performed, adding a magical ambiance to the space.
In a surprising twist, just as the couple shared their first kiss, my hair briefly caught fire!
Thankfully, their quick-thinking videographer from WedFilms.ie (@wedfilms.ie) swiftly put it out, adding an unforgettable (and laugh-inducing) moment to the ceremony, I could see the father of the brides shoulders heaving up and down with somewhat contained fits of giggles. Afterward, Mairead and Gavin greeted their guests with hugs and handshakes, capturing beautiful memories with family and friends.

The reception was a celebration of Mairead and Gavin’s relationship. Floral arrangements by Maura’s Cottage Flowers (@maurascottageflowers) decorated the venue, adding a natural elegance to the castle’s grandeur. Their wedding cake, crafted by Ruairí’s Kitchen (@ruariskitchen), was a showstopper—simple, elegant, and delicious. I just regret not asking for a slice!
The evening’s entertainment was lively, with music by Truly Diverse (@truly_diverse) energizing the dance floor for an unforgettable first dance. The night was filled with confetti and sparklers, creating a magical ambiance as everyone joined in the celebration of Mairead and Gavin’s love.
