Blairscove Wedding Bliss: Juno & Chase’s Colourful Celebration

A Dream West Cork Wedding Venue for this English Couple

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of West Cork, Blairscove House and Restaurant offers an exceptional setting for intimate weddings.

Let me set the scene with  it's beautiful a sunlit courtyard, a gentle sea breeze, and two people ridiculously in love exchanging vows under the watchful eye of Dunmanus Bay.

That’s exactly what went down at Juno and Chase’s Blairscove wedding. As a West Cork wedding photographer, I got to third-wheel their incredible day—and what a day it was!

Full of laughs, quirks, and more romance than a Sally Rooney novel (but with fewer existential crises TF)

Wedding dress with colorful pink and purple underskirt twirling in a scenic lakeside setting.
Beautiful lavender hydrangea bloom surrounded by green leaves in soft focus.

Juno & Chase’s Blairscove Wedding - A Love Story Worth a Rom-Com

You know the type of couple who are so annoyingly perfect together that you can’t help but root for them? That’s Juno and Chase. They met at university, shared a love of family (and probably takeout), and now here they are, throwing a wedding that felt more like the ultimate love party. Having already gotten married during COVID, they wanted to relive the day but actually enjoy it with their huge families and copious amounts of friends.

The Venue: Blairscove House in Durrus, Bantry. Think: jaw-dropping views over the bay, a courtyard so charming it probably moonlights as a postcard, and a vibe that screams, "Yes, we’re fancy, but we’re not snobby about it." which makes it all the more charming. It's well known amongst locals for being the restaurant to go to, if you want to enjoy the freshest sea food and the spread they put up is absolutely amazing.

The Details:

Classic white Georgian-style house with symmetrical windows and well-maintained front garden.
Outdoor courtyard of a stone building with tables and chairs arranged around a landscaped garden area.
Blue and white restaurant directional sign mounted on pole with blurred background.
Charming stone cottage with teak furniture and blooming peach roses in the garden.
White decorative mushroom ornaments nestled among ivy on a stone wall.
Vintage photos hanging from clothespins on a string line outdoors.
Restaurant entrance with potted pink mums and hydrangeas beside a vintage lantern.
Wedding sign on easel reading 'Our Love Story Continues' with floral illustrations.
Two attendees in formal black tie attire at an outdoor garden event.
Wedding guest in formal attire adjusting boutonniere under stone archway.
Outdoor conversation between two people at a garden event.
Elegant couple in formal attire posed against an ivy-covered stone wall entrance.
Silhouette through French doors showing a red dress in an elegant interior setting.
Pearl necklace displayed in a wooden jewelry box next to an anniversary card.
Purple floral boutonniere with velvet ribbon on rustic wooden surface.

The Day Unfolds – With Laughter, Tears, and a Lot of Sparkle

The day began in Blairscove itself (no frantic dashes across Cork, thank God). Juno had a chilled morning with a cuppa and Ruth Anna Brown working her makeup magic, while Chase did whatever it is grooms do to pass the time before marrying the love of their life (practice his speech? Scroll TikTok? Who knows).

Golden Hour Goals: Later, Juno and Chase strolled into the most dreamy sunset Blairscove has ever seen. The sky turned golden, they turned gorgeous, and I turned into a puddle behind my camera.

Quirks and Highlights:

  • Juno wore a revamped dress from David’s Bridal, beautifully altered by Felicity Westmacott, and rocked it like a queen.
  • Chase’s playlist was pure vibes (think Bryan McDonnell and Carys Ann Evans creating a dreamy soundtrack).
  • Sparklers closed out the night because no celebration is complete without people waving fire sticks in the air.
