If you were lucky enough to find yourself in West Cork on May 17th, 2025, you might've heard the distant hum of laughter, the clink of glasses, and the unmistakable joy that follows two people who are absolutely made for each other.
That would’ve been Rachael and Olly’s wedding at the stunning Inish Beg Estate near Baltimore....and girlies what a day it was.

From Meadows in the Mountains to Mimosa's in West Cork, Rachel and Olly's wild wedding did not disappoint

Sometimes, as wedding photographers, we get to witness real, hair-raising magic and this, my friends, was one of those weddings!
If you were lucky enough to find yourself in West Cork on May 17th, 2025, you might've heard the distant hum of laughter, the clink of glasses, and the unmistakable joy that follows two people who are absolutely made for each other. That would’ve been Rachael and Olly’s wedding at the stunning Inish Beg Estate (https://inishbeg.com/) near Baltimore, and what a day it was.
From the moment I arrived at The Boathouse, where Rachael was getting ready, the atmosphere was relaxed, full of giggles, and that very specific kind of excitement you get on the morning of a wedding. Makeup artist Ashling Daly (https://www.instagram.com/beautique_by_ashling_daly/) worked her magic while Debbie McCarthy (https://www.instagram.com/bridalbyhoneybee/) created dreamy, soft waves for the bridal party. The energy? Pure sunshine (and not just from the actual sunshine).
Rachael looked sensational in a gown from Chosen by Kyha (https://kyhastudios.com/), sourced at Marrime Bridalwear ( https://marrime.com/ ) in Newcastle upon Tyne. Minimal, elegant, and very Rachael. The groom, Olly, calm as you like over at the Foresters, was dapper in classic tailoring that may or may not have been Hugo Boss (a stylish mystery that suited him).
The ceremony took place in the lush, slightly otherworldly Sunken Garden at Inish Beg. With a breeze in the trees and the vibrant pastel florals dotted around (merci, MerciGarden!), the scene was straight out of a storybook. Humanist celebrant Ealish Whillock (https://www.instagram.com/ealishwhillock/) guided a deeply personal, joy-filled ceremony that had everyone reaching for tissues (or pretending not to).
Post-ceremony, we roamed the grounds for portraits, the bamboo walkway was a dream, and the couple were game for anything. Rachael and Olly were all about the candid moments, good light, and big fun. There’s talk of a Guinness cake made by the bride herself (Nigella would be proud), and dancing that went well into the West Cork night thanks to Brendan & Friends.
The vibes? Rustic meets festival. Think relaxed glamour, fresh air, bare feet (eventually), and the kind of joy that only comes when you’re celebrating your love with 130 of your favourite people. No first look, no rigid timelines — just real moments and real love.
There were no pets, but Derry the pup made several honorary appearances in conversation, especially when I dropped their in-joke: “Derry, where’s your spot?” (Nailed it.)
From walking their dog and Glastonbury dancing to holibobs and RuPaul admiration, Rachael and Olly's love story is the good kind, the kind that makes photographing weddings feel like a true privilege.
