American Destination wedding at Dromquinna Manor, Kenmare

Real moments reflecting a real you

New Yorkers Grace and Marc,

choose Kenmare for their Destination wedding to Ireland.

Stunning Kerry wedding, in the idyllic Kenmare

Grace and Marc, an amazing couple from New York, decided to tie the knot in the beautiful Dromquinna Manor in Ireland. What makes it even more special is that Grace, Irish born, wanted to come back to where it all began for her. With rolling green hills, a touch of New York chic, and a whole lot of Irish tradition, we had the best time together and the sun even showed it's face.

Their wedding wasn't just about saying "I do"; it was a beautiful blend of the city that never sleeps meeting the laidback charm of rural Ireland and sure you couldn't ask for more than that!

While for Grace, it was coming back to her roots, for Marc, it was a journey into the heart of his bride's heritage. Their wedding at Dromquinna Manor wasn't just a ceremony; it was a celebration that wove together the vibrancy of New York and the soulful spirit of Ireland, making it a day to remember for everyone who was lucky enough to be there.

Ireland: The Perfect Destination for Your Dream Wedding (And Plenty of Craic!)

So, you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s romantic, magical, and a little bit different? Well, Ireland is waving at you from across the Atlantic, saying, “Sure, come here, you’ll love it!” From breathtaking landscapes to ancient castles and everything in between, this charming country is the ultimate destination for couples looking to say “I do” in style. And did I mention the elopement photos in Ireland are an absolute dream? You’ll be scrolling through your wedding album for decades.

Unique Wedding Venues (Castles, Cliffs, and… Islands?!)

Right, let’s talk venues. Ireland has it all. Fancy tying the knot in an ancient castle like the queen/king you are? No problem. Prefer a manor house with roaring fires and antique furniture? Done. Maybe you’re thinking, “What about a lighthouse on a cliff with the wild Atlantic crashing below?” Oh, absolutely—we’ve got that too!

For something truly unique, why not whisk your guests away to your very own island, like the Blasket Islands or Aran Islands? (Your guests will forgive the boat trip once they see the views, I promise.) And if you’re after something intimate and exclusive, Ireland has countless venues designed for smaller, private celebrations. Think lush countryside estates or cliffside hideaways where it’s just you, your love, and a view that’ll knock your socks off.

A Dash of Irish Charm: Traditions and Customs

Now, if you’re coming all this way, why not sprinkle in some Irish traditions? There’s handfasting, where your hands are tied together with a ribbon (it’s symbolic, not restrictive, don’t worry). Or exchange Claddagh rings, which are steeped in Irish history and signify love, loyalty, and friendship. And the music! Traditional Irish music at your ceremony will have everyone swaying and tearing up faster than you can say, “Play it again, lads.”

And let’s not forget the people. Irish hospitality is famous for a reason. We’re chatty, friendly, and very good at making sure you’re fed and watered (possibly with Guinness). Your guests will feel like family within minutes—whether they want to or not.

Ireland’s Food Scene: From Hearty to Haute Cuisine

Speaking of being fed, the culinary scene in Ireland deserves a standing ovation. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients are the stars of the show here, and in places like Kenmare, the food is nothing short of spectacular. Whether it’s a garden-to-plate gourmet mealgrass-fed beef, or just a seafood chowder so good it makes you emotional, the menus will blow you away.

You can treat your guests to a wedding feast they’ll never forget. Think hearty stews, freshly caught seafood, and artisanal cheeses. And don’t forget the desserts—Baileys cheesecake, anyone?

Stress-Free Travel (Yes, Really!)

You’d think planning a wedding abroad would be a logistical nightmare, but Ireland makes it easy. With modern airports in Dublin, Shannon, and Cork, plus direct flights from the U.S., it’s a breeze to get here. And once you’ve arrived, the well-connected roads and transport options make it simple to get around. No stress, just beautiful scenery and maybe a sheep or two.

Make a Holiday of It!

Here’s the best part: your wedding isn’t just a day—it’s an adventure. After the big “I do,” you and your guests can explore vibrant cities like Dublin and Galway, roam the serene countryside, or drive the jaw-dropping Wild Atlantic Way. Just make sure to leave time for a pint of Guinness and a visit to the Guinness Storehouse—it’s practically law.

Legal Simplicity (And a Clever Little Tip)

Ireland’s legal requirements for weddings are straightforward, and there are plenty of wedding planners who can guide you through the process. That said, many couples opt to do the paperwork at home and focus on having a symbolic ceremony in Ireland. That way, it’s all about the romance, no faffing with legal documents on the day.

Time Zones and No Language Barriers

Good news for our American friends: we speak English here (with a bit of Irish flair, of course), so there’s no risk of miscommunication with your vendors. And most Irish wedding pros are more than happy to accommodate time zone differences when planning your big day.

Why Choose Ireland?

Because Ireland is magic, plain and simple. The landscapes are stunning, the culture is rich, the people are warm, and the food is incredible. Whether you’re planning an elopement, an intimate wedding, or a full-blown celebration, Ireland offers everything you need for a day that will leave you and your guests with cherished memories for a lifetime.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, grab your partner, and let Ireland work its magic on your love story. Oh, and don’t forget to book your elopement photos in Ireland—you’re going to want every moment captured.
