The ultimate action-packed wedding saga!
I certainly earned my steps on this one!
Sometimes, I underestimate how wild weddings can be and this wedding, my friends, was one of those wild ones!
The clocks had gone back the night before and I didn't sleep a wink as I was terrified I would sleep out (in?) for Kate and Aaron's wedding. Two quick coffees and into the car I went, on the lovely drive to Ballygarry Hotel Estate and Spa back in Tralee. The drive made me think how, on our initial call, Kate was originally going to travel down from Limerick the day of her wedding! It was on Easter Sunday and involved a drive through Adare village!
Are you mad, I said. Stay in Ballygarry the night before.
And sure wasn't that the best advise I could have given as they had a brilliant session that night and a lovely chill morning getting ready onsite, without any of the stress of a big drive (although I'm sure one of the groomsmen managed to kip in a bus all the same)
The wedding was epic from start to finish and Im not even sure I can put into words how full of life everyone was. Freddy, Aaron and Kates son, stole the hearts of all, including myself. He was so happy playing in the wardrobe during groom prep.
We had a first look at the purpose built onsite wedding venue, The Lodge (which I very neatly missed as I had gone up to the room to get Kate and unbeknownst to me she had gone in a car) Cue me and the Manager running at break net speed to catch her before her grand entrance, which I did! And it was lovely and emotional.
The ceremony was full of Freddy causing devilment and laughter followed by a drinks reception in the hotel itself, cake cutting, speeches, a chaotic photo dash, sparklers! I really could go on, this wedding had EVERYTHING! And mostly because the bride and groom and their lovely families brought that energy!
