Kate and Aaron met when they were young and despite a brief break, a forever more romance was brewing!
The ultimate action-packed wedding saga!
I certainly earned my steps on this one!
Sometimes, I underestimate how wild weddings can be and this wedding, my friends, was one of those wild ones! And boy was it fun.
Ah, the night before Kate and Aaron’s wedding at the stunning Ballygarry Estate Hotel, and would you believe it, the clocks went back. Now, I don’t know about you, but I spent the whole night wide-eyed, terrified I’d sleep through the alarm. (What’s worse than being late for a wedding photographer, you ask? Absolutely nothing.) Two hefty coffees later, I was off on the scenic drive to Tralee, thinking about our very first chat.
Kate had mentioned she might travel down from Limerick on the morning of her wedding. ON. THE. DAY. Easter Sunday, mind you, through Adare village. "Are you mad?" I said (with love, obviously). "Stay in Ballygarry the night before."
And thank goodness she did. Not only did they enjoy the loveliest pre-wedding shindig that night, but the morning was as chilled as a cucumber sandwich. Everyone was onsite, no mad dash, no frayed nerves. (Although I’m fairly sure one of the groomsmen found a way to nap on a bus, as they do.)
Now, let’s talk about the wedding photos. This day had EVERYTHING. From Freddy—Kate and Aaron’s son—charming the socks off everyone (he was delighted playing in the wardrobe during the groom prep shots) to the emotional moments of the ceremony at Ballygarry’s purpose-built venue, The Lodge.
Speaking of The Lodge, I nearly missed the first look! I had popped upstairs to fetch Kate, only to find out she’d gone ahead in the car. Cue me and the manager sprinting like lunatics to catch her grand entrance. I made it—just!—and it was every bit as emotional as you’d imagine.
The ceremony itself? A mix of devilment and laughter, thanks to Freddy, and tears too. Civil ceremonies at Ballygarry Estate Hotel have a way of weaving magic. Afterward, it was straight into the drinks reception (inside the hotel, where the coziness really shines). Then we had cake-cutting, speeches, a whirlwind photo session, sparklers, and oh, the dancing!
This wasn’t just a wedding; it was a celebration of life, love, and the most joyful chaos you could ask for. The energy of Kate, Aaron, and their families made it truly unforgettable.
If you’re planning a Ballygarry wedding, take a leaf out of Kate’s book—stay onsite, soak up every moment, and trust me, your day will be just as extraordinary.
