A relaxed, seaside wedding where colour and craic were central players!

A love story which blossomed in Fat Face
and bloomed in West Cork
It's not often I encourage my couples to take a muddy uphill walk on their wedding day.
But...... and there's always a but.
The sun was out and drinks were had and I knew, in my heart of hearts, that Kerry and Paul needed a moment amongst the bluebells, a fairy tale backdrop for a colourful duo.
Wild Atlantic Way Wedding Venue - The Lifeboat Inn in Courtmacsherry
A unique COASTAL wedding venue in Ireland
As far as coastal wedding venues go in Ireland, The Lifeboat Inn in Courtmacsherry is one of the most unique. It is located along the Wild Atlantic Way, midway between Kinsale and Clonakilty and just under an hour's drive from Cork City, making it an easily accessible location for all. Paul, originally from the UK, but with Irish heritage, had family and friends flying over to celebrate, making this venue an ideal choice. With sandy beaches, forest walks, and a fishing village vibe, it provides a world away from reality, and everyone is in full holiday mode. The Lifeboat is renowned for its fresh and locally sourced food. But not only that, they make a smashing stout tower too, which was the only thing Kerry wanted at her wedding.
The venue was perfect for this couple, as they wanted to keep things low-key, intimate, and relaxed.
T'was an all round family affair with Kerry's sister Clare of Blume Flowers, making the wonderfully colourful bouquets and table pieces. I loved these bright and playful flower arrangements if I'm honest, I love colour. Whilst her other sister, Sinéad of Lemon Door Cakes made the super cool and retro cake which I thought was fucking class.
Kerry sourced hay bales from a local farmer for people to sit on in the marquee wedding overlooking the sea. Shots of whisky were drank as a toast to the newlyweds, and everyone danced their cotton socks off till the wee hours. Ireland isn't known for its great weather, and we have been having a shocking time of it lately. As we were walking towards the woodlands for bluebell photos, a couple driving past stopped in their car to let the couple know they'd put out the child of Prague for them the night before! A pure stranger doing something for nothing for another, an act of pure gold. And sure, where would you be got, only in Ireland, says you. The catnapping story? Well, remind me to tell you that when I meet ya!
Did you know - the bluebell is a symbol of humility, constancy, gratitude and everlasting love.
Nope, me neither!
