Olivia and Eoin's timeless, classic & fun wedding at Castlemartyr Resort

Photos by Sarah Kate photography

Olivia and Eoin’s Castlemartyr wedding was a stunning celebration of love, filled with elegant details and heartfelt moments. Held at the picturesque Castlemartyr Resort in East Cork, their day began with bridal prep by Jessica O' Sullivan for makeup and Christine O' Sullivan for hair. I love working with Jessica and Christine they really created natural wedding makeup looks that elevate a bridal parties beauty even further, plus they're great craic - Check out Jessica's reel here

Olivia looked radiant in her Ronald Joyce wedding gown from Perfect Day Bridal. Rhe dress itself was from Veni Infantino, the same designer which Olivia's mum wore to her wedding, a detail which I just adore. She paired with iconic Jimmy Choo heels. The florals by To Have and To Hold added a timeless touch,

Eoin and the groomsmen were dapper in bespoke suits from Saville Menswear in Cork City. Their ceremony at St. Senan's Church, Cloghroe and was graced with music by The Wedding Duo, and the reception kicked off with elegant classical music by the Cascade String Trio, which totally fitted the vibe. The night ended on a high note with performances by The Stars Band, ensuring a lively dance floor. While their cake from local wedding cake baker Apple BeeBakes was both stunning and delicious (I'm told, although I didn't manage to get a slice myself).

Capturing every moment on video, was one of Ireland's best Videographer's Greg from DG Video, who I highly recommend, he was a pleasure to work with. Every element of their day showcased the magic of Castlemartyr weddings, while at the same time celebrating who they are as a couple too.

Capturing the perfect wedding photos at Castlemartyr Resort

As a Cork wedding photographer, there’s something irresistibly romantic about Castlemartyr. It’s not just the 18th-century manor house (though honestly, who doesn’t adore a manor house wedding?) or the serene lake glinting under an Irish sky. It’s the whole atmosphere—a sort of quiet grandeur that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into the pages of a very luxurious novel. For me, as someone who loves love (and loves documenting it even more), this is as good as it gets.

And let’s not forget the logistics. As a destination wedding photographer in Ireland, I know how much easier it is when the venue is near Cork Airport. Castlemartyr is perfectly placed for couples flying in with a wedding party in tow, blending convenience with that elusive wow factor.

The resort itself is a dream—lush gardens, stunning artwork, and every detail so beautifully considered that you’ll find magic in even the smallest moments. Every corner here is a photo waiting to happen, from the sweeping staircases to the little sunlit nooks that feel like they’re straight out of a movie.

If you’re planning your big day and searching for Ireland’s best luxury wedding venue, Castlemartyr might just be it. Let me capture it all—the laughter, the tears, the dance-floor madness—and turn your love story into something you’ll cherish forever. Because honestly, from my point of view, it doesn’t get better than this.

What makes Castlemartyr a great wedding venue?

Oh and ads before I forget, let me tell you about this venue, because it’s not just a place – it’s a whole frickin' experience. First off, this spot has been around since the 13th century! Yes, you heard that right – ancient vibes galore - you had me at history. Back in the day, it was home to the Knights Templar (seriously, how cool is that?), but now it’s had a bit of a glow-up and transformed into this ridiculously fabulous luxury resort.

You’ve got the manor house – all posh and gorgeous – and sprawling grounds that seem to go on forever, complete with an actual castle ruin! It’s like stepping into a Jane Austen novel, except with better heating and a cocktail menu. And can we talk about the elegance? It’s dripping in historic charm but with all the modern touches – think fancy artwork, plush interiors, and service that makes you feel like a total celeb.

Also, major bonus: it’s super handy to get to! Cork Airport is practically down the road, so you can swan in by plane and be sipping bubbly by the fire before you know it. Honestly, if you’re planning a dreamy destination wedding, this is the place.
