Black Tie wedding of Grace and Jonathan in Kilshane House -

From scaling Everest to a Marriage, we did it all!

Grace and Jonathan met online in 2018, with their first date in Drury Buildings. They discussed everything under the moon and by date number 3, they were already double dating with Jonathans sister, so it was pretty evident early on that it was a match made in heaven! Grace has played hockey for Ireland and Jonathan has climbed Everest so both are avid sportspeople which has led to many adventures across the globe and invariably friends picked up along the way!

Bridal and Groom prep was both in Kilshane House, a stunning Regency Manor, which was restored to its former glory by Architect Jane de Roquancourt and her partner Mr Finbarr McLoughlin some 20 years ago. And with 20 years of weddings under their belt, Kilshane House have really nailed the romantic Manor House wedding vibes. The grounds, which includes a half-mile driveway and a gazebo on the lake make for a stunning backdrop, whereas the orangey makes for a perfect civil ceremony location or reception drinks under the arge curvilinear conservatory surrounded by exotic plants and  birds.

Grace and Jonathan’s wedding at the stunning Kilshane House was a day filled with timeless elegance and heartfelt moments. It's hard to beat a Regency manor as a setting, but this one in Tipperary, is where the couple celebrated their love surrounded by family and friends.

Grace Booked the finest Wedding Vendors in ireland for her dreamy wedding

The day began with Grace’s hair styled to perfection by Joanne Kelly O' Hara, while her glowing bridal makeup was expertly done by Oksana Lobanova Makeup, which you can see from the photos below turned out amazing. The breathtaking floral arrangements, featuring soft neutrals were created by the talented flower smith Forever Blossom Sandra.

MDA Productions were on video and created the most stunning snapshot of their day, which I am sure they will treasure forever. MDA are very much in the background and really focus on letting the day unfold naturally, they give really causal and relaxed vibes, which I feel puts my couples at ease and they create couple portraiture which isn't forced.

From the speeches in the conservatory to an unforgettable reception in Kilshane’s stately dining room, every detail reflected the couple’s style and love story. And although it seemed like a mountain to climb (do you see what I did there?) it was truly a joy to capture their magical day in such an iconic venue.

Catholic Church Ceremony at Holycross Abbey: One of my favourite Historic Church's Venue in Ireland

Holycross Abbey is a popular church wedding venue due to its historical beauty and size! The Abbey can book up 3 years in advance so it is worth checking with them about availability on your date as early as possible. Holycross Abbey is close to Cashel Palace and Kilshane House so its central location in Tipperary makes it easily accessible and it also makes an epic backdrop for family photos!

The history nerd in me, loved HolyCross Church for their Wedding!

Where to get Romantic Couple Wedding Photos at Kilshane house

Kilshane House is packed with incredible photo opportunities for a wedding photographer like me, but the glass conservatory is a standout favourite. With it's tropical plants, soft natural light, and elegant architecture, it’s the perfect spot for romantic, timeless portraits, it almost feels like you are in South America , which given Ireland's penchant for rain can only be a good thing right?

The grand staircase inside the house is another iconic location, and another really popular spot for wedding photos. It’s got that old-world charm and sense of drama that makes every photo look like it belongs in a classic love story.

Wedding Photos That Feel Like true to you

At the heart of every wedding is a story, and the photos should reflect that. A fleeting smile, the way your partner looks at you when they think no one’s watching, your grandmother fixing your veil before you step outside. These are the moments you’ll want to keep, and at Kilshane House, they happen everywhere. Whether it’s a candid laugh in the orangery or a dramatic portrait by the lake, your Kilshane House wedding photos will feel timeless and deeply personal.

Kilshane House: A Venue for Every Style

What makes Kilshane special is how effortlessly it fits into every couple’s vision. Want something grand and elegant? The ballroom can handle that. Prefer a laid-back vibe with a countryside twist? The grounds have endless nooks and crannies for relaxed photos or spontaneous champagne toasts.

And if you’re wondering about logistics—don’t. This exclusive hire wedding venue in Ireland (Check out One Fab Day's article on this) runs like a dream, with a team that seems to anticipate your needs before you even have them.

Whether you’re looking for something grand and formal or intimate and serene, Kilshane House has the perfect backdrop for every moment.

Why Sarah Kate Photography is the Perfect Choice for your wedding photographer in Tipperary

Alright, here’s the part where I tell you why I’m perfect for your big day. Yes, I can hear you groaning from here—“Oh, here she goes, tooting her own horn again!” but stick with me, girlies, because this is important. And let’s be honest, if I don’t hype myself up, who will?

Being a luxury wedding photographer isn’t just about pointing a fancy camera and yelling, “Smile!” (Though, let’s be real, I’ve done that once or twice when the champagne was flowing a little too freely.) It’s about knowing when to vanish into the background like a ninja in a ball gown and when to step in and say, “Darling, tilt your chin.” It’s about understanding how the light hits the Kilshane House orangery at 4 p.m. (magical, by the way) or finding the best angles in the ballroom when Uncle Jim is busting out his questionable dance moves.

And because I’ve spent years photographing weddings in Tipperary—yes, including plenty of stunning wedding photos in Kilshane—I know how to make this historic venue shine in every single frame. Seriously, I could make Kilshane House look good in a hurricane. (Though let’s hope we don’t have to test that theory on your big day.)

Your wedding at Kilshane House isn’t just a celebration; it’s a memory that’ll be woven into the very fabric of this gorgeous manor. And with the right team—ahem, including a dedicated Ireland wedding photographer who knows her stuff—you’ll have more than just memories. You’ll have a story. A story told in images that are as beautiful, timeless, and full of life as the day itself.

So, if you’re looking for someone who’ll capture every laugh, every tear, and every time Auntie Mary accidentally sets her hat on fire (it happens more than you’d think), then let’s chat. Because, let’s face it, your wedding photos deserve to be as fabulous as you are. And I’m just the gal to make that happen. (Also, I promise not to photobomb your first dance. Unless you ask. Then I’m totally in.)

Let’s create something unforgettable together.
