Laid back luxury of Grace and Jonathan's wedding in Kilshane House

Grace and Jonathan met online in 2018, with their first date in Drury Buildings. They discussed everything under the moon and by date number 3, they were already double dating with Jonathans sister, so it was pretty evident early on that it was a match made in heaven! Grace has played hockey for Ireland and Jonathan has climbed Everest so both are avid sportspeople which has led to many adventures across the globe and invariably friends picked up along the way!

Bridal and Groom prep was both in Kilshane House, a stunning Regency Manor, which was restored to its former glory by Architect Jane de Roquancourt and her partner Mr Finbarr McLoughlin some 20 years ago. And with 20 years of weddings under their belt, Kilshane House have really nailed the romantic Manor House wedding vibes. The grounds, which includes a half-mile driveway and a gazebo on the lake make for a stunning backdrop, whereas the orangey makes for a perfect civil ceremony location or reception drinks under the arge curvilinear conservatory surrounded by exotic plants and  birds.

Grace had her bridal prep in a stunning room with extensive views of lake and estate, while Jonathan got ready with his boys in the Courtyard. The ceremony, located in Holycross Abbey was a windy drive 30 minutes away. Holycross, like Kilshane, is a restored medieval Cistercian monastery in Holycross near Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland, situated on the River Suir. It's a super quaint village and an epic place to get married in Ireland.

Getting married in Holycross Abbey

Holycross Abbey is a popular church wedding venue due to its historical beauty and size! The Abbey can book up 3 years in advance so it is worth checking with them about availability on your date as early as possible. Holycross Abbey is close to Cashel Palace and Kilshane House so its central location in Tipperary makes it easily accessible and it also makes an epic backdrop for family photos!
