Glengarriff Lodge: A Dreamy Elopement Venue

Nestled in an ancient woodland in  stunning West Cork (my all time fav), Trish and Cory's elopement at Glengarriff Lodge was nothing short of magical if not a little naughty, and I know I probably say that a lot but I'm not joking!

From the moment I arrived at the Glengarrif lodge, I knew this day would be unforgettable.

Glengarriff Lodge, set within a 300-acre estate, is a calm seat at the base of the Caha Mountains.

You know I can spot two best buds a mile off and these two were just the ticket
Cory described Trish as strong, confident, and someone who always knows exactly how to express what she's thinking—even if it's just with a look.  She is his best friend, confidant, and the person who understands him better than anyone.

Trish, in turn, adores Cory’s golden heart, the way he always puts others first, and his smile that brightens her darkest days.

Trish and Cory’s Love Story by an ireland Elopement photographer

Trish and Cory’s journey to this moment spanned two decades.

They met through mutual friends around 1999-2000, but life had other plans—Cory was married, and timing was never quite right. Over the years, they continued to bump into each other at events, always sharing great conversations and undeniable chemistry. It wasn’t until 2019 at their local Oktoberfest that Trish overheard Cory was single again, and just a few months later, they reconnected at a March Madness gathering. From that moment, their love story truly began.

A brewing proposal

On Trish’s birthday, Cory made their morning coffee routine extra special. As she went to make her usual cup, she found a ring on top of the coffee pot. Cory asked, "Will you brew a beautiful life with me?"—and, of course, she said yes!

This sweet, thoughtful proposal reflected their deep love of coffee and the simplicity of their love for one another.

The Misty Wedding Day in Beara - We didn't let the rain dampen our spirits

A storm was rumbling in and I was a tad anxious about the weather as with all things in Ireland, it can change in the blink of an eye. There were whispers of a weather warming but someone most have had the child of Prague out somewhere because it somehow skipped us.

Trish began her wedding day at Jessie's Hair & Beauty Salon in Bantry, where she was pampered and prepared for the big moment, whilst the boys transversed Glengarriff trying to find an open pub (Kids they open after 12pm).

Once she was ready, we all gathered at Glengarriff Lodge, where Rosie, the celebrant, led a heartfelt ceremony in the sunroom while soft rain added a peaceful soundtrack outside. It was intimate, cozy, and full of laughter and good jest which absolutely perfect for this couple.

After the ceremony, we took a scenic drive over the Caha Pass, a mountain route known for its breathtaking views of the Cork and Kerry countryside, however it was covered in fog and we couldn't actually see anything but had fun nonetheless, dancing in the rain.

The next stop was Crowley’s Bar in Kenmare, one of Ireland’s friendliest pubs, where we were greeted with warmth, pints, and a surprise serenade by the bar owner. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day, filled with laughter, love, and the welcoming spirit of Ireland. I was just said I couldn't stay for pints.
