I get it, babies in props might not be your thing! Instead you want organic, natural newborn photography that captures the now.
I create authentic, genuine, honest photos of your newborn to treasure forever. A true investment to savour your family in a moment in time. As a natural light family photographer, I capture beauty in these ordinary, days, right at the beginning of life.
My newborn photography is pure and instinctive, focusing primarily on the rawness of your new parenting adventure. I take a baby led approach and capture all the in-between moments such as feeding, burping & the milk coma cuteness!
As a mum of three, I really remember the overwhelming first few weeks of newborn life so I make your newborn photography session as relaxed and comfortable for everyone involved, so if that means you wear a baby spit covered to tracksuit pants to the session, I am 100% down with that, because I've been there too!
I do not photoshop babies, they're just too perfect. I keep all the wrinkly skin and milia, the only thing I can't capture is their great smell!

Those first few weeks of parenting whiz by so quickly, the moments short-lived and hard to get back. Baby photography allows you to enjoy those first few days forever more. Our newborn photography session can take place in your home, or for older babies, outdoors at a local park, castle, beach or gardens, anywhere that you will feel comfortable.
I photography babies all over Cork such as West Cork, Kinsale, Carrigaline, Kinsale, Crosshaven, Clonakilty, Youghal, Cobh, Douglas, Bandon, Bantry, Skibbereen, Midleton, Mallow, Schull, Glengarrif, Ballincollig and in Kerry such as Kenmare and Killarney. Travel outside of these areas may include a small travel fee to include additional travel time & related expenses.
What to expect at your newborn photography session
All newborn photoshoots take place in your home, where you feel most comfortable. As a newborn photographer, I travel all over Cork, Kerry and Ireland to capture newborns in their first days of life. The session will take place in a room in your house that has the most natural light. So this may be a bedroom, living room or even a hallway.
The sessions aren't staged with props but are more reflective of what newborn life is like in your home in the first few weeks.

Heck no, my main focus is on capturing your new tiny human, and the connections and bonds you have formed.
So please don't feel under any pressure to have a show home, my home is a mess 99% of the time so I don't expect it from others.

The best time to book a newborn photographer is within the first 10 days after birth.
Ideally you would need to book the session, after your 20 week scan and choose a timeframe within 2 weeks of your due date. I do have flexibility on this provisional date as babies have a mind of their own, when it comes to making a grand entrance.
So please don't stress about this, I am also fully aware you might not realise you want newborn photos until bubs has arrived.

When can we book?
My newborn sessions in Cork & Kerry book out months in advance. Newborn sessions take place, early morning mid-week ideally within the first day days of baby being earth side but we can work around this.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ONCE I'VE BOOKED A SESSION?
Once you have booked a session with me, we will plan the specifics. I will answer any questions you may have, as well as assist with location selection and anything else you might need.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND DO YOU TRAVEL?
I am based in Macroom and I travel within a 1 hour radius around Cork, Killarney, Kenmare and West Cork. For destinations outside of this, travel costs apply.
I keep these to a minimum and I am upfront about them before booking.
I'm a wanderer at heart so always eager to explore.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes, I am a fully insured & registered I.P.P.V.A photographer. I do this full time & I am a registered business.
WHEN WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos between 4 - 6 weeks. You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favourites, and also order prints! A sneak peek is also available 2-3 days post shoot.
HOW MANY PICTURES WILL WE RECEIVE?
This depends on which package you choose. Your full gallery is available to purchase if you would like access to all your images.
DO YOU BUNDLE SESSIONS?
Yes, if for instance you want maternity photography and newborn photography bundled together. We can arrange that, and the good news is, bundles come with a discount.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Wear what feels good and makes you comfortable, if you're not comfortable in what you're wearing, you won't be able to relax and enjoy the session.
Upon booking to will send you a bespoke wardrobe guide which acts as a guide to help you plan your perfect pictures.
CAN WE GET PRINTS OR GET IMAGES FRAMED?
Yes, of course! You can print directly via your private gallery. I have chosen an artisan framer to provide beautifully handmade papers and frames to showcase your photography.
DO YOU PHOTOSHOP OUR IMAGES?
I have a strict no photoshop policy. I won't edit out wrinkles, lumps or bumps.
I like to create heirloom imagery, designed to show your babies natural newborn goodness. I document babies & children in their purest form and the chaos that that involves. Lifestyle photography means I might give you prompts but I generally let the session unfold naturally.
I do edit each individual photo and aim to deliver high quality & natural imagery.
DO YOU SHOOT OTHER TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Yes I shoot maternity, small business, interiors, intimate weddings and elopements. I love unconventional weddings vibes or anything a little quirky. If you like my style and want to work together. Just contact via the link above.
TERMS OF SERVICE
By booking my services, you understand that all photographic images remain the copyright of Sarah Kate Photography and cannot be reproduced, cropped or altered in any form. You agree to receive photos sorted and edited at the sole discretion of the photographer. All unedited files are the sole property of the photographer and will not be included in any final product received. All photos will be edited as seen fit by the photographer. Photos can be subject to online, advertising, marketing, and any other forms of media, press, and hard copy as the photographer sees fit, per the model release form that was signed by the client before session began. The client has full printing rights. The photographer is not responsible for printing issues. These need to be addressed with the printer. If the client is to publish any photos taken by photographer in any media, professional or otherwise, credit is to be given to photographer. There are no refunds once photos are delivered via online gallery or disc. If refund must be issued before gallery is delivered, client will receive their refund MINUS the non refundable retainer that is specifically marked in the contract the client signed. Client agrees to not re edit photos or alter them in any way. Any re editing, or use online without credit to the photographer is prohibited.
