S STAR CLIENT REVIEW FROM HANNAH AND JAMES

We had the wonderful Sarah Kate as our wedding day photographer, and we couldn't have been happier! She was a delight to have as part of our day from start to finish. From the moment she arrived, she brought a warm, lighthearted energy that helped us feel more relaxed and enjoy the day.

She even helped to keep everything running on time and was happy to help out where she could. Her organisation prior to the wedding was also fantastic, and her detailed questionnaire really helped to plan out our day and make sure we could capture all the moments that were important to us.

She really did feel like having a friend with us, and her enthusiasm and bubbly nature made us feel so at ease. Everyone at our wedding said how friendly and lovely she is. She is an absolute pro at what she does, and I am so excited to see our photos. Thank you, Sarah Kate, for helping to make our day so special!

Are you searching for one of Ireland's Hidden Gems of Wedding Venues

If you’re searching for a Luxury Wedding Photographer in Ireland who specialises in exclusive hire wedding venues in Ireland, buckle up. Because Hannah and James’ day at Inish Beg Estate was the kind of wedding that reminds you why West Cork is that girl when it comes to wedding photos. This was not a “nice day out.” It was an epic circus affair, and I loved every second of it.

This was a full-blown experience, girlies, a private-island, woodland-orchard-first-look, lake-swim-before-the-ceremony situation.

And I am fecking obsessed.

The Morning: Sunflowers, Swim Rituals & Sentiment

Hannah got ready at The Boat House, surrounded by light, family, and crochet sunflowers made by her mum (which doubled as wedding favours and tributes to her grandmother, excuse me while I sob quietly).

Her dress from MK Bridal by Luce Sposa was sleek and romantic without trying too hard. Hair by Hair by Mare and makeup by Allure Makeup Artist kept everything soft and glowing, ideal for natural, editorial-style wedding photos in West Cork.

Meanwhile, James went full energy and had a pre-wedding swim at Lough Hyne with his best person, his Grandad, family and friends. Iconic behaviour. Highly recommend. If you can fit a sea swim into Groom Prep, do it, lads.

Why Inish Beg Estate is One of the Most Unique Wedding Venues in Ireland

When couples ask me about unique wedding venues in Ireland or exclusive hire wedding venues in West Cork, Inish Beg Estate is always on that list.

  • Completely private island estate
  • Woodland, orchards, sea views, hidden beaches
  • Ceremony at Hannibal's H2O (yes, it’s as class as it sounds boy) A lake in the middle of the forest
  • Reception in The Boat House

It’s the kind of place where your guests feel like they’ve been invited to something wildly intimate and wholly exclusive at the same time.

For couples planning a luxury wedding in West Cork, this estate gives you scale, privacy, and cinematic backdrops in every direction.

The First Look in the Orchard

They chose to do a first look in the woodland orchard before their ceremony. Family nearby. Just enough privacy. Just enough emotion.

For couples considering a first look at their West Cork wedding, here’s why it works so well:

  • You actually get time together.
  • You calm the pre-wedding nerves.
  • You get relaxed, natural wedding portraits before guests arrive.
  • Your timeline becomes calm rather than chaotic.

If you’re investing in a Luxury Wedding Photographer in Ireland, trust me, those quiet pre-ceremony portraits hit different.

The Ceremony at Hannibal’s H2O

Their ceremony was led by Sinéad Gould (The Irish Soul Celebrant), blending warmth, humour and heart.

With 106 guests gathered, the atmosphere felt intimate but full. West Cork light filtering through. The kind of setting that makes wedding photos feel editorial without even trying.

James’ dad had passed away two years prior, and there was such care taken throughout the day to honour the family while still keeping things joyful. That balance? That’s what makes wedding photography meaningful.

Not perfection. Presence.

Reception Vibes & Dancing Chaos (The Good Kind)

After drinks and canapés, everyone moved back to The Boat House, where the speeches were spread out through the day, which I love from a photography perspective. It keeps energy flowing. It keeps the dance floor alive. Which, too often, can drop off at a typical wedding venue when you've eaten too much, and people sneak off to bed (I know I would after a 4-course meal)

The soundtrack?

Souldriven Band absolutely delivered. Hannah and James’ song is "White Noise," which already tells you they are cool without trying to be.

And when golden hour hit? We slipped outside for those epic, windswept, West Cork sunset photos that make people Google:

“Best Wedding Photographer West Cork”

“Luxury wedding photos Ireland”

“Wedding venues West Cork, exclusive hire”

Final Thoughts on this wedding at Inish Beg

Hannah and James met in college nearly eleven years ago. They chose family, fun and dancing as their priorities. They honoured the past, celebrated the present, and didn’t overcomplicate the future.

Which is honestly the blueprint.
